Aerohive Drives Unlimited Wireless LAN for A-Katsastus

Sunnyvale, Calif.and London, England– October 18, 2011 - Aerohive Networks, the pioneer in controller-less Wi-Fi and cloud-enabled networking,announced today that A-Katsastus, a provider of vehicle testing and inspection services in Northern Europe, is deploying Aerohive’s WLAN solution into its stations across Sweden.  Implemented by ICT partner Ymon Oy, A-Katsastus selected Aerohive for its scale, affordability and uncompromising performance.

  • Headquartered in Finland, A-Katsastus recently launched its operations in Sweden. The company’s planned growth demanded a network infrastructure that is manageable, cost effective and high performance. 
     
  • At each station, A-Katsastus requires a wireless network to support vehicle testing and inspection: employees use handheld PDAs from which they access the company’s ERP system and diagnostic applications.  WLAN resilience and performance is essential for A-Katsastus’ business processes, however, with its growth plans, so too is scale and affordability.
  • A-Katsastus evaluated a number of WLAN vendors to compare controller versus controller-less solutions.  Accounting for scalability, cost of implementation and ease of management, A-Katsastus selected Aerohive’s Wi-Fi solution.
     
  • Aerohive’s controller-less architecture minimises the amount of hardware required at each station as well as the complexity of deployment.  IT partner Ymon Oy, which manages A-Katsastus’ network, can simply pre-configure and ship APs directly to the relevant station, using the nearest engineer to install.  With no controller required, the scale of the WLAN is unlimited.
